Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1) Distribution and abundance : Widespread and very abundant Habitats : Any, wherever trees and shrubs grow Flight Period : Single-brooded; mid-October to February Larval foodplants : A wide variety of broadleaved trees or shrubs and also occasionally on conifers - found locally on Alder, birches, Field Maple, elm, hawthorns, Hazel, Blackthorn, Honeysuckle, oaks, sallows, Wild Cherry and Ash Final Catalogue : Extremely abundant everywhere from Bentley and Woodbridge to Beccles and Gorleston ; imago sometimes extends into February, e.g. 1894.
